1. Hugging Someone
The biting cold of Northrendâs winds were something that neither Zaanthe nor Squall were accustomed to. There was something in the environment that seemed to work against the vindicatorâs struggling frame, and in this moment Zaanthe seemed that the dead seemed to have yet another advantage on this continent. Each swing from the clattering undead had peppered the draenei in frozen water and snow, which had over time worked to soak his armorâs lining. Each deathless husk that fell seemed to be followed by yet another, and even after Zaanthe had long forgotten how long heâd been fighting, there seemed to be no end in sight. Yet still, his body fought on. He had a goal. Someone to keep safe. By the time the first strike to draw blood from the vindicator had landed, the breaths that came from between his chapped lips were shallow and weak. The nearby scourge didnât miss their opening to swarm Zaanthe shortly afterward. Five of them began to clamber over his massive pauldrons, huddle around his waist and circle around his back. From her vantage point on the cliffâs edge behind her, Squall could barely see the vindicatorâs plate through all of the rotten cloth, rusted metal and yellowed bone. The blood-curdling scream of the young girl heâd sworn to protect was one of the final sounds Zaanthe heard before everything began to fade. With the utter dregs of his strength, he exorcised one of the undead, scorching the unlife out of its form. It toppled over like a stack of childrenâs play blocks. The second took the vindicatorâs maul to itâs chest, which scattered it into pieces over another of the cliffâs edges. The third, fourth and fifth took a few more swings before the draenei let free a burst of radiant light that finally vaporized them. Good. He was tired. Now came rest. His right knee hit the blooded snow first. Then, the rest of him. No arms outstretched to catch his fall, and nothing but snow and the hard earth beneath embraced him afterward. For a while, darkness was all the vindicator knew. It wasnât death, but it could well have been. Squall, however, had other plans. At Zaantheâs side she sat, wrapped in blankets and her lame bottom-half covered in snow. Her hands pulled what water she could from the lands around them. Her voice was a constant muttering whisper that begged and pleaded with the elements for aid. Her bargains were accepted. She got what she asked for. Breath returned to the vindicator, and vision soon afterward. Still caked in blood, wet and freezing, Zaanthe outstretched a weary arm that took Squallâs comparatively tiny shoulder. In a single motion, before she could speak, he pulled her down into his chest, locked both of his arms about her, and held her against him in a newfound silent reverence. [Little different subject matter from what I intended to go with, but hey. Thereâs still a hug.]
After helping the turkey birth a gravy bag and giblets Zaanthe ( @zomborr ) and I got elbow deep in the frigid bird and it was horrifying.
My roommate is turning into Zaanthe. We got up at 7 and exercised...and tomorrow we're getting up at...4...
Mosur: Well stop talking.
* puts hands on Zaanthe's neck*
Zaanthe: Oh that actually feels good
Mosur: Maybe it's the pressure?
*Zaanthe puts his own hands to his throat*
Zaanthe: It's not the same, maybe it's the leather.

Zaanthe: Oh can you get me a straw small berry steak?
Mosur: ...with or without a cherry?
Your move
(( ref: http://asherrean.tumblr.com/post/142808470418/piano-man by @mewkeereâ ))
Asherrean arrived home disheveled but whole. Â He sat before a chessboard in the loft he rented. Â
A solitary pawn plucked from before itâs mistress. Â The piece was held in a hand which had blood caked under the nails. Â This was a thing, he noted, that had not happened in some years. Â The grey haired man reflected on the night as his hands busied themselves with passing pawn back and forth.
A gig at the Broken Heartâs club down in the city. Â The trek into the backroom up the stairs.
âWe didnât just hire you for your music Asherreanâ
A large man bleeding out on the table.  So much bloodâŚ. so much wasted time.Â
They had tried. Â Oh, how they had tried. Â The gauze and towels thrown about the room, once pure, now sanguine; These were testament to their trials.Â
Bullet wounds are nasty things. Â There is no such thing as a âsafeâ gun round, despite what the stories say. Â âNothing vital has been hitâ was said. Â Yet still, three holes had bored through the man.Â
He had barked orders at those he did not know. Â Large men. Dangerous men. Â Those with an all too earthy scent about them. Â They balked, but they complied. Â The more battered of the two taking charge of the other; the one with a smithâs arms.
In the eventual still of the room, once the others had gone, he has called on his arts. Â Magics of a time heâd distanced himself from. Â
A subtle art compared to the sounds of the club below. Â Blueish white light suffused the room. Â The words he had chanted were an ironic soft staccato thing compared to the backdrop of such a lively and raucous swing piece echoing up the stairs.Â
Flesh was forced to knit together. Â Bone once cracked made to bind together once more. There was no gentle mothers touch in Asherreanâs work; no care to stifle the pain. Â With how the vessel he worked on jerked and twitched under his ministrations, it was just as well he was unconscious this evening.Â
The others returned as the bodyâs torso was being wrapped in gauze and bandage.  He could not recall where he procured the linen from.  It was cleaner than anything else in that place.  Asherrean ignored them and their banter⌠or was it yelling as they set up their retrieved IV to replenish their comradeâs blood.  He hadnât a mind for it then and could not recall now.Â
Asherrean had left as the subject of his nightâs work awoke with a broken scream. Â The others had been too tied up in their comrade to notice his passing.
A phrase had flashed through his mind as he left the club.Â
âWe didnât just hire you for your music AsherreanâÂ
They had known. Â He had not spoken or practiced the art in at least six years. Â He had tried to leave that part of himself behind. Â But they had known.Â
Someone remembered and they knew.Â
It gave him pause as he made his escape. Â Pause enough to leave a message in the form of a âbillâ with the doorman.
Asherrean set the piece down as memory ran its course. Â The written bill, itâs meaning and message though cryptic still fresh in his mind.Â
âQueenâs pawn to Queenâs pawn four. Â ~ Kothâ
Grey haired man looked at the board, wondering if it would be answered and how. Â The corner of his mouth tugged upwards at this thought and another. Â The songstress would be home soon. Â He wondered, as well, what she would make of the nightâs events.
Well, we both feel uncomfortable.
