Landscapes have been elusive for me - I grew up as a portrait photographer in flash photography studios. Finding compositions in nature that truly do the place justice is incredibly challenging for me. Even more so, there's no control over the light in the same way as a studio environment - it's a lot of right place, right time, or hurry up and wait for the right moment.

That said, I'm incredibly pleased with this photo. I think it really captures the grandness of the overlook, Scouts Lookout in Zion National Park, specifically.
