Cut for Shuichi’s remarks but, reminder that Shuichi is very much capable of playing up his emotions, for the sake of selling a lie. He puts on theatrics to fool everyone, while making up a false testimony to obscure the truth.

This one came to me first, so… 

For the sake of this au, Owen’s parents were involved in the assassin’s guild thing. Steve as an assassin, and Sutton as a receptionist at the Continental. He resents being born into the work. 

He ‘gets out’ and tries to live a normal life, but Maddie get’s into a scrape and he’s dragged back in to things to save her skin.

Mary is from the High Table and she’s sent to dole out “justice” on Maddie’s screw up. Owen is torn because, yeah Maddie messed up, but she’s his sister. And also, oh no, this lady is attractive and lethal. 

They have  back and forth run ins around the world and clash with Mary; and get to know each other through those meetings. Maddie thinks Mary isn’t so bad, “you know. If she wasn’t trying to kill me.”
