With Banyue’s banner coming in a few days, let’s talk about Intelligent Constructs. As, why do we know so little about the Forbidden Fruit Test?

So we know from Billy and Qingyi’s lore that they are different from other robots or intelligent machines, like Bangboo, because they passed the Forbidden Fruit Test. Yet, we don’t even exactly know what the Forbidden Fruit Test is. We just know that it’s something that Intelligent Constructs can take. Which lies the problem, how does one even take the test and pass it?

From Dailyn’s and Zhao’s dialogues, it seems that Banyue has not passed the test because of what he had done in the past. As in, not save everyone from a Hollow disaster even though he has that power because he listened to his programming.

Yet, there’s a problem with that, SEED Sr.

SEED Sr. was a killing machine not unlike Banyue. Yes, he wasn’t made from TOPS like Banyue, but he was made to be a killing machine because the Defense Force just loves making those. He also was said to pass the Test despite having only be made to kill and never question why he needs to kill, and he raised Seed/Flora like he was a human father. Granted, she still got some growing up to do, but he did a great job being her father despite everything.

And what does Banyue currently do? Not much just, created a dojo to give people some self defense skills to better protect them from the Hollows.

Furthermore, Banyue does indeed feel guilty about what happened in the past. He was okay with Dailyn’s order to end him and take his Logic Core because he never forgot those he couldn’t save.

And all this adds up to reveal that Banyue has indeed passed the Forbidden Fruit Test.

Yet, we still don’t know when or how he passed it. We just know that he passed it because his core got modified to be more human by Ning Qian’s late sister.

Which begs the question, will we learn more about the Forbidden Fruit Test when he drops? Because if he does give more lore about the Forbidden Fruit Test, then we might have a more clearer picture of how Billy and Qingyi could’ve passed the Test.

And I need to know more about the Test because of Aria/Yutane. The pink haired idol. She definitely coming soon in the game.
