I don't really understand why every single post I've read on the Internet keeps calling the red sparkle insect in Yuri Kuma Arashi a "bee" when it is pretty clearly a hornet. Hornets and bees are different creatures. I'm gonna take a flying leap right now and conclude that Ikuhara chose a hornet to protect Lulu (& later Mirun, and later still Ginko as well) while (honey)bees have been destructive and deadly thus far for a reason. The red star insect's behaviour isn't strange or subversive (within the context of the story) because so far it is the only one of its kind.
