It's me.

Long time no see...

It's been about a year since I started this account, and what a rollercoaster of a year it's been. And, until recently, I think I've been stuck about mid loopty-loop...

...worldview turned upside-down... a little scared to open my eyes... in need of a little nudge, perhaps.

But a couple days ago I officially left my job to pursue some ongoing health challenges and begin a new adventure of self-discovery.

Amongst many others, one big question I've had lately is, "Am I just a really ~immersive~ ally or is this closet I'm standing in not just for *solidarity*?"

But I mean if spending hours scrolling the ftm tag on tiktok isn't normal cisgirl behavior I would've figured that out by 30, right?

....right?

in all of her sprites (including the BY-9 one) she is standing as if she would be on the ground, and not floating like Eternal Sugar.

Eternal Sugar is clearly shown to walk on the ground, but it fascinates me how she's pretty much airborne all the time compared to her Virtue form. and not only that, she becomes airborne when she first corrupts:

and comparing it to her present-day form, we already know she flies/levitates constantly:

now going back to the Sugar of Happiness, in her cutscene specifically identifies a "crunching" sound. and immediately right after, her wings are the first thing to be commented on.

if we go back to her virtue vs first corruption form, the iridescent rainbow-like colors on the tips of her wings also seem to break off and shatter like glass or (sugar) crystals, which finally put them in a position that she didn't previously have them in for her other sprites, including her sad shadowy one.

but you know who also this reminds me of?

Sugarfly breaking free of the syrup on her wings. it's not exactly the same, but i thought it would be an interesting parallel/similarity to bring up. Sugarfly wasn't able to fly while her wings were coated with syrup, and only when she tried to use them they shattered from the previously-crystallized state. kind of like the Sugar of Happiness, in a sense - wings breaking free from being "crystallized".

perhaps the Sugar of Happiness didn't particularly care about flying or hadn't really thought of it all too much, because she prioritized every other cookie's happiness above herself - as she was created to do so.

BUT i think it would be compelling if her not being capable of flight were actually the case, and her breaking free from it (like Sugarfly) is her breaking free from her divine-induced purpose, straying away from how she was originally designed - perfect and not able to fly, because there's no reason for her to. she was created to serve and nothing else, and from the beginning she was not intended to be a free, soaring creature of the skies, despite how many wings she has that would definitely make her an elegant, graceful dancer in the clouds.

she was never allowed to from the beginning. and when she gave into sloth, gaining her own agency over herself, her garden, and all of the cookies within - she finally gained the ability to fly.
