Soft rustles of the wind was making the scenery more serene and beautiful. Grass dancing along with it, a shadow loomed over you who currently watching the sunset in front of you, you turned your head around only to see—Yuta. He smiled when you turned around to look at him.

"May I sit beside you, L/N-san?"

That simple smile and question made your heart beat in delight. You've long harbored feelings towards Yuta, ever since he came to Jujutsu High, you were the first one to approach him even when Rika tried to attack you for going near Yuta.

Yuta helped you that time by explaining to Rika that you were a friend and a classmates. You were grateful that day that it wasn't the last day of your life. Starting that day, your friendship with Yuta grew closer. You would help him in studies on curses while he and Rika helps you during missions.

Even after Rika finally able to move in the afterlife. You still stayed beside Yuta during those dark times of his life. Up until now, you're still right beside him and secretly harbored feelings for him. The only one who knew about your feelings for him is Maki.

A year prior to the present time, you started coughing flower petal...

Alarmed by the situation, you immediately went to see a doctor to confirm your guess. Apparently, the doctor diagnosed you with Hanahaki Disease and still on the first stage. The doctor suggested that you take the surgery while it's still early. Yet, you possibly couldn't afford to erase all your memories and feelings towards Yuta.

"L/N-san? Are you alright? You' ve been zoning out lately."

You snapped back to reality where you are currently in a mission to fight curses. You looked around, not realizing that you already finished it.

"I' m fine, just tired from the missions. Please, don' t mind me."

While sheathing your sword, you felt like you were going to throw up blood and petals again. Feeling the itchy and irritating petals in your throat, you excused yourself to go somewhere for a moment.

After finding a place where no one would be able to find you, you started coughing all the blood and petals. Yet, when it came out, it wasn't just flower petals anymore but a whole dark red rose that meant unrequited love.

Staring in disbelief, you can't help but to just sigh while a single tear drops from your eye. Knowing the meaning behind this flower and that throwing up a whole dark red rose indicates that this is the 2nd stage of the Hanahaki Disease.

Continuous attacks rapidly went to your direction, you dodged most of it but some of it hit you in your abdomen, thighs and hands. Wincing in pain, you immediately tried to regain your composure to help and fight the curse.

Yuta saw you limping while trying to stand up, telling you to just stay put and he'll take care of it. You can see him struggle while fighting the curse, a caliber of another level. Something that the two of you can't take one-on-one.

"No, I'll help you. I'll be the bait while you attack the curse in his chest. I already saw that it's the weakest point of his body. Try to kill him after that."

He gave you a worried look before nodding his head in agreement. He readied himself for the attack. You immediately flash stepped to distract the curse, while doing so, you got hit in your abdomen, making the previous injury more larger than it was before.

Blood ran through your uniform as you were thrown in the wall. You started coughing blood along with the petals and the last flower, the Yellow Carnation.

After Yuta succeeded, he immediately went to look if you're alright. He started treating the wounds you have but the both of you already knew that you can't heal it anymore.

Yuta then saw the flower and flower petals. He was confused as to why you're coughing flower petals. Then it hit him, you have been quiet ever since he told you that he won't love someone again.

"[name], don't tell me... you have been suffering from Hanahaki Disease a-all this time? Is it me?"

"Forgive me for not telling you. Yes, it is you whom I secretly loves but you're not mine. I know that your heart will forever be with Rika. I'm sorry for not telling you, I wasn't scared of getting rejected. I was already content with you as a friend, even if our relationship is only what friends have, I have been grateful for that."

"Maybe in another lifetime, you will be mine, Yuta-kun."

You are near from feeling the fatigue due to running away from a curse.

Prior to that, you're the second child born from a prestigous sorcerrer clan, the prescious gem that your clan hid for the 8 years that you are alive. Unfortunately, your clan had decided to give your hand in marriage to a boy who was called the strongest sorcerrer alive in the present era.

Clutching and fidgeting your fingers and lost in thought to due nervousness. After all, you're just an 8 years old girl who suddenly announced to be the betrothed of a boy you've never met before. Your mother soon noticed how antsy you are feeling, not hesitating to immediately hold your hand and smiled at you softly which made you smile back to her.

“Do not fear, my dear. I'm sure that it'll be alright. If you don't like him, just tell me, okay?” she calmly told me, still caressing your hand. The driver unlocked the window, telling us that we've almost arrived at the estate.

You immediately dilated you focus outside, trying to forget the nervousness you are feeling. You saw how beautiful the forest near the estate was, full of trees and pulchritudinous flowers. Smiling happily at the scenery, you noticed that something was amiss. The four other cars behind yours is missing. There were originally five cars prepared—three for the elders, one is for the gifts, and the one that you're currently in.

A sudden heavy pressure was on top of your car, your body immediately felt the fear as your mother hugged you to protect you from the curse that's trying to ripped the roof of the car. Without hesitation, your father jumped out of the car to engage battle with the curse to protect you and your mother.

“Miiko, run now. Leave this to me, you must get there safely.” he screamed to the both of you.

“Father, no!” you screamed to him while getting pulled by your mother away. 

As the two of you ran away, some other curses were also trying to get the two of you. Your mother tried her best to use some spells to stop the curse for seconds so that you can both run. But that didn't last long, the curse started to keep up your speed and your mother is running out of stamina. With no choices left, she distracted the curse to come after as she run towards the opposite direction.

Without trying to look back, you kept your pace and went ahead as tears starting to pour out of your eyes. Deep into the forest with no one to your side, stumbled and groan from the fatigue. You then noticed a boy with snowy white hair and ocean blue eyes, trying to look at him more clearly, you forced yourself to stand even though your body is throbbing due to fatigue. He looked at you coldly but nonetheless helped you and carried you to his back. Until then, you lost your consciousness.
