I don’t know how long he’s been doing this, but according to my source, he’s been doing it for a long time now. A role player on World of Warcraft, this person has claimed that I have been “stealing” his art after he was caught. Even with a huge amount of video and post evidence, he remains to be deluded and denies he’s been taking my art to claim as his own. He does this by cropping my signature/watermark out of the art I make and happily say that he had made it.

His biggest mistake was showing off latest art I’ve done for Inktober. These are posts I dedicated to Philippine mythology, creating inktober art based off of Philippine mythological creatures such as the Tikbalang, Mananggal – etc. Jake and his friend found me on IG because of this and with further investigation on my account had found out that I am indeed the original creator. Afterwards, he was confronted.

From the screen shots, I can assume he doesn’t post my work on other websites (i.e, Facebook, Instagram) – Jake from the conversation on Skype said “How did she get a hold of your art if you don’t post it anywhere?” and he said: “I post it Imgur what the fuck”

He took “Roses and Silk” and “Lucern” and posted these Imgur, cropping out my signature/watermark without my consent. Because he knows that these are not his original works and his account may be reported, the posts aren’t linked (are show none) to the account he’s using.

To clarify, I do not post art anywhere else other than my Tumblr, my Personal Facebook Account or on Instagram. I’ve spotted other websites that post my art but bless these individuals for crediting me and linking viewers to my IG account.

So what do I do about art theft? What do I do about this sad individual who probably does nothing but raid and role play on World of Warcraft, claiming my art as his own and attempting to report my IG account for art theft?  

By now, my coffee has gone cold making this post. After talking to my boyfriend on the phone to tell him the sad story about all of this – I’ve come to a conclusion that calling him out on the bullshit is the only thing I can do and hope that this reaches individuals who know this thieving individual and see him for what he is. An art thief.

Link, if you’re reading this – I also wish to clarify something. I would have been okay if you used my art for your RP’s as character references and crediting me. But you aren’t doing that. You’re taking away my skill for your own and furthermore, cropping out my signatures and posting them to other websites. For that I say – I’m sorry. I’m sorry that you think you could get away with this and I’m terribly sorry for making you feel like I’m stealing anything.

Tell you what – we can make a deal. Give me proof that you’ve created any of the art you claim as your own. Solid proof. A hand next to your artwork, timelapsed drawing video footage – anything that can prove that you are indeed the content creator and I will gladly remove my Instagram and Tumblr account.

As Thranduil said: “I am patient. I can wait.”
