yui. a nickname, their given being yue, is a witch. they were raised in a lunar cult that believe them to be the reincarnation of the lunar goddess, which is a major deity in the part of mistral close to kuroyuri. they posses a great deal of magic, as well as knowledge from other incarnations, but only in short spurts ; they’re still quite young in retrospect and haven’t recovered the information yet. due to being raised by multiple other coven members secluded in a mountain yui finds great fascination with people outside of it, which was how they met lie feng, lie zhilan’s ( later goes by an ren ) estranged older brother.

after an accidental mishap involving ren’s aura, as an apology to feng, they took it upon themselves to teach ren everything they knew about aura and their beliefs about its physical manifestation as magic. they fell into an older sibling dynamic with ren. feng, whose aura either never unlocked, or has great reluctance to use it, taught ren how to fight, even though because of his suitor training ren had been forbidden to. yui is enigmatic, holding a childlike fascination with the unknown; coupling this with being spoiled by their caretakers, they will make it painfully clear when you do not hold interest with them anymore. yui, feng, and ren’s grandmother cuifen are the only living family he has left.
