Diving Too Deep
It had been a long time since Rival and Hamin had agreed to meet the next day for an adventure and he wasnât quite sure how it had gotten away from them so easily. They had met as promised, but it had been mutually delayed by convenienceâ or rather, inconvenienceâ and it had been stalled until it became more mythos than a possibility. Still, sometime a moment was stolen between classes where both claimed that they had forgotten (Rival hadnât, and he had a feeling Hamin hadnât either, though that was irrelevant) and suggested that âfor real this timeâ they would meet over the weekend with homemade sandwiches or whatever so floated their boat and traverse into the unknown.
So Rival had agreed to âknock downâ Haminâs door, so to speak, early in the morning on a Saturday. The sun was hardly up, if up at all, the light being meager and paltry in its efforts as Rival tugged at his gloves and felt slightly wary. He was quite aware that both Hamin and Lee Jinki shared a room and he wasnât too keen on the idea of accidentally disturbing the elf. The other was supposed to be up, but depriving another of sleep was borderline cruelty given that the majority of Insolitus survived off of coffee and tea or the equivalent thereof.
Carefully he knocked on the dark wood, though it was soft enough that had either of them been snoring even the slightest, it would not have been heard. Wincing, he knocked sharper, though hardly more confidently, and hoped that firstly, he didnât sound urgent and obnoxious by knocking twice and that no light dreamer had been startled awake. Walls were thin, the halls were prone to echo, and quite frankly, sleep was too hard to come by. With that in mind, he had to wonder over the sanity of waking up so early to do this.
