Ok so for fun theories and headcanons and what ive garnered! We only really see Derby hanging out with Adam and sometimes Echo. He doesnt seem to really have any close friends otherwise, which i get because sitcom reasons, but its more fun think about it my way. Derby is a friend to all! (except to the girls but ) so i like to think he was pretty torn up when Adam left for college at 9 years old. im sure he's had other best friends but nothing as strong as what he has with Adam. Headcanon is that he doesnt really know this, but he's a little more sensitive to specifically Adam's rejection. Like what would happen if Adam decides to leave for a better career? They have a thing going! a show! I wish we got to know more of Derby's family, along with literally anyone else's. We only see Slab and Adam's family 😭😭
