Clang, clang, clang--crash!
The sound shot down the alleyway, the harsh clashing of metal on metal and metal on glass. Chell grit her teeth. The noise didn’t bother her, anymore; she hardly even flinched at it. She was more concerned with the blood dripping from her fingers, the hundreds of tiny cuts that had just sprung up over her skin--only superficially, though. Not even the sting of pain could stop her now.
The woman smashed her hands together again, the two piteous chunks of machinery clamped in her fists meeting with another brutal screech. At this point, the action was long overkill; the white plastic shell of the thing had already cracked and fallen, the lens shattered and stuck in little pieces all across her hands, her clothes, the ground. She clutched only the bones of an object, a bent and tortured metal arm and a black tube, dangling wires like viscera.
That wasn’t enough to stop her, though. It was only when Chell chanced to catch an errant footstep behind her that she finally froze, sides heaving with exertion. Straightening, she cast a glance over her shoulder--impassive, guarded, wrathful all at once--and--thunk--the pieces of the CCTV camera dropped to the pavement.
