Iβd wanted a dog for many years but the timing was never right. About a month after i secured my live-aboard boat it felt the stars aligned and I could finally get myself a four-legged companion.
I got in touch with "The Boxer Rescue Serviceβ and spoke to Shirley who was involved with the charity; she wasn't fazed when I told her that I lived on a boat and we agreed a time for a visit.Β
Boxer Rescue were happy for me to adopt one of their dogs and this is when I first met Jen. I took her for a walk and itβs safe to say it was love at first sight. I decided to name her Jen after a girl I went to college with.
Weβre seldom apart these days. We take a walk along the beach every morning and, being self-employed, Iβm lucky enough to be able to take Jen wherever I go.
When Jen was younger I suspect she was a top athlete. She used to run like the wind and swim like a fish. With medication and regular massages from Hannah at Canine Arthritis Management she's still getting around fine in her old age.
