I still can’t get over how inexpressive Dan’s face is in this particular scene in the English dub. His eyes look into the camera like he was on the office, but his mouth still pouts a little.

It’s especially weird, if we put it into the original context of S1 Episode 37:

Dan walks up to Shun with a ‘Let’s have a fair fight, buddy!’, then Shun

(after being done with his dramatic stare into the Unknown), replies with a

 ‘Okay, let’s go!’

and then Dan does the face with a ‘Hmpfh’ sound.

I know, that the first season wasn’t always on top of the animation’s quality, but this redrawn expression ended up so unreadable to me, I got confused a little mid-episode.

The Japanese version contains more emotions, but I will never forget the dubbed version:
