I'm a hypocrite when it comes to headcanons. But Lilo lost both her parents,and lots of 5-year-olds act different in general. Saoirse,on the other hand,has full-on signs of autism,from the flapping and copying the seal noises,not talking,mouth-breathing since she doesn't get what Ben means,flooding the bathroom,and going near the water. Lilo has PTSD,Saoirse has autism. Here are my designs for my Zebrafish elementary school AU! (Inspired by Arthur) Everyone is 8 (except budding 6th grader Walt,who's 11. I never saw Tanya being older than her friends. All of them seem the same age,except for Walt,who seems older),and are best friends who have a pretend band. While Tanya still gets cancer in my AU,it's treated in a way like how Arthur touched the subject. In my AU,Walt's not as emotional,and plays lacrosse. Tanya has dark brown hair like her big brother,but with pink streaks,and is an animal lover. Vita religiously watches Hannah Montana and thinks she's the coolest 3rd grader there is. Plinko is a comedian-in-training and likes Spongebob and fart jokes. Jay volunteers at Help House Missionaries (a fictional organization I made up),a church-owned shelter for immigrants and refugees,with Jay being adopted from India at age 2. A homemade cover for my Song Of The Sea fanfiction,Camp '88. The fanfiction involves Ben going to summer camp,and is told through journal entries and letters to home. I read about the 80s,looked at references,and watched the movie. Part of my fanfiction involves Ben getting a (badly written) letter from Saoirse,and Ben and his camp mates thinks the letter is from a crazed killer. (I read tons of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid,and my humor comes from that) The 2nd slide is that scene,with him being stupidly scared by the letter. I'll post the fanfic once I get to writing it,and I'll explain some outdated wording and medical facts in Ben's letters. And I will be referring to Saoirse as autistic,as she shows signs and behaviors of autism in the movie,like echolalia and not talking. (Also,be ready for a joke involving 6 year olds and overalls!
