 I don’t know too many Young!Thor and Loki works, but I have read this one - https://archiveofourown.org/works/290554 (This is my brother and no you may not hold him, by lunik). They might be a little too young, even - Loki’s a baby and Thor introduces him to his friends. Thor is mad that his friends don’t appreciate how great his brother is. Â
The first chapter of this one https://m.fanfiction.net/s/9270785/1/LOKI has a flashback where they’re a little older and listening to Frigga telling them bedtime stories, and continues to the scene in Thor (2011) where they’re kids at the vault and both telling Odin that they’re ready to be king. The rest of the fic takes place when they’re older, though. @all my followers, please do feel free to suggest more works if you know any!
my personal “snake incident” headcanon:
when they were younger loki would turn into a snake as a way to get love and attention from thor because he was too ashamed, hard-headed, and proud to ask directly
unbeknownst to loki, thor always knew when a snake was loki but played along and pretended to be oblivious
one day, while holding snake!loki, thor accidentally lets it slip that he knows
loki is furious and embarrassed so in order to save face and try to keep the upper hand he transforms back and stabs him, pretending that was his plan all along
after the incident loki doesn’t turn into a snake for a very long time
eventually he starts doing it again because he still desperately craves the attention, and shockingly, thor still picks him up
some days loki attempts to stab him and other days he doesn’t but thor takes his chances and it becomes a bit of a game
