He was tired of it, though. Tired of being the resident clown, there’s only so much a man can take, right? You’d think his friends would figure that out by now-- but nope. He apparently could only be their friend if he was of use to them-- which is maybe why they hadn’t been around lately. They could tell he just wasn’t feeling right anymore. Wasn’t as funny. Not as manic. Tragic.
“Really thinking it’s gonna come to that before the rest of ‘em take me seriously,” it’s half-hearted, a joke really. Of course deep down he is serious, but out loud he can make it seem like he isn’t. He’s pretty good at that.
When twisted fingers became entangled arms he smiled. Juliet might of been a new friend, but she seemed to be just about the only one that understood. The only one that seen him for him, not something that she could just use for entertainment and throw away like some old toy when they grow out of it for awhile. He sighed softly. “I don’t know, I’m thinking about retiring. Honestly, I don’t know how real clowns do it-- like-- I watched a video on youtube where people actually clown like 24/7. Crazy.”
