   if there’s one thing he’d learned in the decade he’s spent with bigbang, it’s how to manage time. right down to the minute mark; when they’d take turns napping in the thirty-or-more minutes it takes to get from bullet one to bullet two on their schedule. but this had been one of those days where it was crucial to be completely focused and on top of things. there was barely time to blink twice.

   by the time seunghyun remembers how to breathe properly, it’s past 8pm and schedules were supposed to end at 7:30, but their last photoshoot ran over because one photographer got sick and another had to be called — from 15 minutes out of town, which turned to 45 because of traffic. he groans at the not so distant memory, groans at how much his calves and feet are sore from being up for so long, groans at the way seungri won’t stop blowing air in his face because, somehow, the maknae isn’t tired. 

   the rest of them are, though. youngbae had fallen asleep in the car and daesung is uncharacteristically silent. jiyong — well, he wonders about jiyong. so he turns his eyes to see the other, head tilted against the car window and eyes closed delicately enough for seunghyun to know that he’s awake. there’s silence aside from the sound of wheels running over road as their manger turns in the passenger seat to face them, to tell them that they’ll be dropped at their respective places of residence soon. the closest is seunghyun’s villa, and the eldest member of the group is glad to hear that; glad that he’ll be able to fall back onto the sheets of his bed soon enough. 

   but suddenly jiyong’s voice cuts through the half-silence, in a smooth but audible tone, as he tells their manager to eliminate his stop, for he wanted to stay with seunghyun for the night. 

   it takes a lot of effort not to let loose the smile that urges him, because how suspicious would that look? seunghyun does look at him though, and when their eyes meet, there’s something between them that just goes without saying as their manager agrees without much aside from a questioning glance, and tells the driver to reset the GPS. 

   suddenly, seunghyun doesn’t feel all that tired any more. not that the days fatigue had been wiped away, but being alone with jiyong is always so … special, and exciting. if they did nothing but stare at each other the whole night, seunghyun wouldn’t mind it. ( though he may get antsy with affection and move to kiss him, which he knows by now, the other would have no objection ).

   thoughts break when the door slides open and manager is snapping his fingers to get seunghyun’s attention. the faint call of ‘TOP!’ finally makes it into his auditory range as he blinks, wide-eyed, innocent and insisting that he hadn’t heard the other. manager says it doesn’t matter, that they’ve reached his villa, if he hadn’t noticed. 

   which, he hadn’t. 

   both he and jiyong climb out, their little bit of baggage in hand and on their backs as they just exchange glances once more; this time, smiles are allowed as seunghyun leads him up the steps and down the paved pathway, all the way to the front door. manager and the other’s have pulled off by now, and the 8:45pm darkness is starting to catch up with them as seunghyun has to squint to see the keyhole in the door. a few clicks, and they’re inside. 

   a few playful words are exchanged; about how seunghyun is pleasantly surprised, mostly, before showers are taken and pajamas are sported. before long, both of them are in the main room, on the couch with the blare of the television as the most powerful sound. fatigue; though the shower had been enough to refresh him for a good hour or so, slowly crawls its way back to him, and seunghyun sighs with sleepiness, earning him a glance from jiyong. jiyong, who’d been leaning his head against seunghyun’s shoulder with heavy eyes.

   he looks so cute like that, seunghyun’s thoughts trail along, yet he feels a weight settle in his lap. looking down, the redhead has shifted, his head laid atop the older man’s thighs, and his eyes closed with what looks like comfort as he curls his body up, getting as close to seunghyun as he can. seunghyun would be a liar if he claimed he isn’t smiling at this exact moment, and, fondly, his fingers gently trail their way through the younger’s hair, soothingly and affectionately. 

   he wouldn’t mind it if they stayed like this for a while. 

   humming softly, he leans down and presses a soft few kisses against the other’s cheek, and forehead, before he resumes playing with those soft and fluffy strands of hair he’s come to like the feel of, very much. he can assume by the steady rise and fall of the other’s chest that he’s fallen asleep, but that doesn’t stop the sweet feelings that crawl their way up and settle in his chest, bursting into a great warmth that he couldn’t deny if he tried.
