Force is easily met with more force. We are easy to control when we accept definitions of ourselves that are laced with self-loathing and self-hate. So we must love ourselves. I’m writing a new story. I won’t fit in a box. If forced into one, I will speak up about it. Time to own spirit. I can’t instantly change the landscape today. That’s a work in progress. (And trust- I’m working on it.)But I can breathe. I can show other people how to pause and look inside- because for real, that’s where it’s at. It’s knowing and feeling your own body. It’s naming your emotions. It’s moving freely in the world that says you can’t. It’s making my self care a priority. I’m embracing something other that bs expectations. I am power. I am strength.
