“No matter what, something just feels so wrong about living upstairs. Sleeping in the same bed or in a spare room, it didn’t matter. I can’t shake the thought that I’m disappointing him by rejecting, but what would happen if I agreed? I feel like the basement is just better, it’s all I’ve really known before he decided to keep me alive..”

Wolf struggles with the fact that Strade allows them to sleep and roam upstairs, they usually spend most of their time in his basement sitting at the pole they had been tied to for days on end, or messing around with his PC. The constant thought of the offer being a trap or pissing him off scares them deeply, not wanting to be killed over it. Wolf plans to spend a night or two eventually to test the waters, but it still makes their heart pound and stomach sick over the possibilities.

“I’ve never seen someone so pale before, let alone another beastkin..I could swear Strade nearly drained them of their blood, but that..that’s just..how they looked.”

Wolf rarely ever meets other beastkin, most of Strade’s “buddies” are usually just human. While their inner wolf wanted to react, they kept quiet with them, offering painkillers and food after giving a short conversation, hoping it would give them enough strength to regenerate if they planned to escape. Wolf made sure they slept well, leaving Strade’s PC room door open while they lightly slept on the couch in case something happened.
