My time here in Texas has come to an end. The youth leaders are here until Saturday, but the heavy duty stuff is over and they get the next two days to debrief, enjoy each other's company and look forward to taking what they experienced home.

I did my exit interviews to get the reactions from them last night. The theme was revolved around change.  This trip really challenged their beliefs, faith and really got to the core of their being and who they are as children of God and Americans.

It was interesting to see and hear the change that went through these high school kids. What was impressive is to see them take on these challenges and harsh realities that were laid out in front of them. 

As for me, this was challenging for me as well. I've never been to a place that was so oppressive, where Americans felt so trapped. It was a wake up call for me as well.
