HALLOWEEN DAY , SKYLINE PARK.  

it’s the night of halloween and it’s quite active at skyline park. with the different activities taking place its only necessary for people to be out on this spooky day. for skylar it was more of a special day for her as it would be her first time going out for halloween in yangcheon as well as in her life. considering that her parents didn’t give her much of a childhood, she wasn’t able to participate within the festivities of what others did. with the exceptions of holidays when the family would come over. 

now, she was on her own now and providing for herself, skylar had as much freedom as she could possibly want. it just took getting disowned by her parents to do so, but that was besides the point. she was now within the area of skyline park. they had many activities that skylar assumed was mostly for the family -- much like that masquerade ball people were dreading or so she heard. she didn’t purchase of ticket , not that she knew where to buy it and with her reputation being within the daebak house she knew it wasn’t to her favor to attend. 

she opted to doing the treasure hunt at this time. considering she’d tried all the other events at that time she thought this one would be fun. although, her only problem was that she wasn’t the best with directions and neither was the older whom was with her. she’d given the responsibility of following the map to wonjun, considering he’d lived here all his life but to her misfortune the older had gotten them lost. not that she was more helpful in her attempt as she gotten them even more lost, but she wouldn’t admit that. 

“didn’t we just pass this area up already??” she asked, a huff escaping her lips as she looked at wonjun. “how did you end up getting us lost if you were born here? i thought you knew your way around the area?”

it goes without saying that hyeon likes music. music’s good when it’s 10am, she’s working on a report for a client and artic monkey blasts through her ears. music’s nice when it’s three am and she’s in a club, swaying her hips to the beat. however, music is most definitely not enjoyable when it’s four am and she’s trying to sleep because she has another long day at work tomorrow and some dickhead is blasting some shitty song at maximum volume. “are you fucking kidding me?” she mutters to herself, exasperation tinging her voice, “fuck this shit.”

angry hyeon is one thing. but a sleep-deprived and annoyed hyeon? a literal beast. her frustration amped up to its highest, she throws the sheets off herself and storms her way to the elevator, ready to give her upstairs neighbour a piece of her mind. should she call the cops? no, they tend to be highly inefficient and it doesn’t give her the satisfication. should she kick his ass? honestly, the thought sticks with her but she’s a little tired from the rough muay thai session earlier. so, maybe another day. she’ll just stick to (verbally) ripping him a new one.

(in her fit of fury, hyeon fails to consider that maybe, just maybe, it’s highly inappropriate that she’s wearing only a lacy satin nightgown to berate her neighbour, but at this point, the only thing she wants to do is to make whoever’s playing the music shut the fuck up.) 

♡ :「 @yhwonjun​ 」 | though her mind is foggy, jiyeon distinctly registers the sound of gurgling and splashes of water. tonight, because she has decided to let go of all her inhibitions and because she is under the influence of a heinous amount of alcohol, jiyeon is unable to realize that the gurgling is coming from her as she sinks down a two meter deep pool. in approximately five seconds, her lungs will finish pushing out the the last of the carbon dioxide that it can hold and she will be left feeling breathless. but hey, even if her lungs fill with water at each attempt to retrieve oxygen, at least the gurgling noises will stop. she was beginning to find them annoying. 

when she’s sober, she will probably make herself a promise to never go this crazy again. but she’ll break that promise to herself a week later because old habits die hard and she needs to find a way to dismount all the pressure she places onto her own shoulders. so she just downs the alcohol and lets herself slowly drift away. literally and figuratively. 

the tug on her arm is abrupt, panicked even, and though she’s still a little slow to process everything going on, she can recognize that there is someone trying to talk to her. but she ignores the voice because it’s only now hitting her how much she needed to breathe, that and she’s a little preoccupied with the coughing fit she’s going through because of the chlorine water she swallowed. (pool water, 0/10, would not drink again). through the fit, she blearily blinks, trying to get rid of the stinging pain so she can see the person who interrupted her peaceful drowning session. 

“oooh my gosh, i know you!” she says through her coughing. where she’s seen him and how she knows him can be determined in a few minutes when she’s more alert and in her mind. but she is certain that she knows him. with the grace of a baby lamb, which means with no grace at all, she straightens up, lifting her arm up to slap his shoulder. “hey! what’s up? what are you doing here?” 

a playful smile grows on hyeon’s face. thank you, god, for handing her an opportunity to stir shit up and potentially, annoy a few people. “because i’m bored, i’ll do one for the girls and another one for the boys.” 

“for the guys, i’d fuck @yhwonjun.” okay, so. he’s kind of an annoying shithead but hyeon cannot deny that he’s also kinda really hot. not only physically but just in the way he carries herself - the way he pushes her buttons, the smirks and taunts. god, she’s pretty sure he knows what exactly he’s doing and it’s so infuriating (and sexy at the same time.) plus, the signs just all align: angry, no-strings-attached sex is the best kind of sex. he lives quite literally on top of her, so there’s no need for a walk of shame or potential noise complaints. 

“to marry? @yhjeongmin 100%.” without a doubt, hyeon knows that they’d be the best fuckin’ power couple (even if she doesn’t have anything more than platonic feelings of respect and care for him.) they’ve been through a similar childhood: pushed to perfection, stressed and pressured most of their lives, and he just, as cheesy as it sounds, understands her. beyond their drug-fuelled days, she does genuinely like him as a person; he makes her feel safe and warm.  it doesn’t hurt that he’s a pretty good kisser as well.

“and finally, i’d kill @yhjinho.” maybe they were doomed from the start, her fiery personality and the weight on the world on his shoulders, two angry kids who never knew how to say what they felt. but goddamn, the good times she’d spent with him were the closest she ever felt to religion - she doesn’t believe in god but she did believe in his smiles and his laughter and his kisses. still, if the good was the best, then the bad was some of the worst that hyeon has ever felt, especially the whole fucking way they ended, fuck, it genuinely physically pains hyeon to think about it. she wants to hurt him, the way he hurt her but she just can’t. so, killing him would be the easiest option. 

“and for the prettiest girls, i’d fuck @yhtsuki.” hyeon’s done it before and she’ll do it again, in a heartbeat. tsuki’s really fucking hot, and there’s something about the way she’s this untouchable perfect kind angel that makes hyeon want to ruin her even more. and the very fact that she’s an idol turns hyeon on even more - the potential consequences of her being caught, the way hyeon knows she’s doing something that she shouldn’t. it’s just really fucking fun.

“i’d marry @yhsujin.” not a different question. god, hyeon loves sujin. okay, yes, she might not know details about her past and honestly, about her present life but sujin never complains. neither does she pry into hyeon’s life and for that, hyeon is nothing but appreciative. sujin’s proven to have her back and that’s more than enough for hyeon. and she particularly likes that she’s never met anyone who holds the same rage and need for destruction as she does. with sujin, hyeon honestly feels like they could just burn the world together just for shits and giggles. and now, who wouldn’t want that for the rest of her life? actually, now that she’s thought about it, maybe she could propose this idea to sujin. once her career as an idol ends, maybe she could move in hyeon and they could move into a big house with a nice view, share cute designer outfits with each other and live the rest of their lives as hot rich friends with suspiciously matching rings. 

skyline park events ft. @yhwonjun

as someone who enjoys watching horror movies, the outdoor screenings of halloween movies at the skyline park sounds like a good idea. she’s pretty much confident that she already watches most of them, if not all, so when she doesn’t recognize the movie’s currently playing, she decides it would be best if she sits down and watches it.

what she didn’t expect is for her to fall asleep halfway through, and she could only hope people are busy getting scared to even notice that her eyes are literally half-closed until the movie comes to an end. well, shit. the realization eventually hits her that she doesn’t even know what’s the movie is all about, and if she can sleep through it, maybe it’s safe to assume that it’s not interesting enough nor it is scary at all. the movie might not be as good, but at least the nap is, so she doesn’t really have much to complain about.

and the funny thing is she’s not the only one. apparently wonjun, who happens to sit beside her also ended up dozing off during the movie, so neither of them actually watched it until the end. maybe she’d never find out about the ending, but if she doesn’t care enough to stay awake throughout everything, she might as well just forget about it now. that’s why the two of them choose to leave and take a walk around the park instead, already losing trust in whoever’s in charge of the scary movies here.

“don’t you think the decorations are a little bit boring?” sujin remarks, eyes busy looking around the place. “like how is all this considered scary or halloween-worthy? aren’t they supposed to make us feel spooked? do you feel spooked at all?” well, maybe the others might find it creepy, but it takes a lot to scare the shit out of sujin, so it only makes sense for her to be so unimpressed about the decorations.

this seemed to be a reoccuring event between the two. for some reason when she would hang out with her friends at the club, they would end up leaving her by herself. was she that bad to be around? skylar like to think that she was pretty fun, but then again she was used to the loneliness -- as bad as that sounded. now, she finds herself in a crowded building with no one she knows. it’s not like she can make new friends, right? but could she just trust anyone?

she looks around and sees someone familiar and by himself. this wasn’t the first time this had happened. the two had mutual friends, she wasn’t sure if the other was a dancer or not but she knew that the crew that she would hang out with were all dancers. when they would go off by themselves, the would always slip out of her presence and seemingly his as well. it was a bit awkward at first because she didn’t know him -- like at all. she wasn’t sure at first if he would want to talk to her either as he didn’t seem like someone who was sociable, but she found overtime that the male was good company to be around. so, she made her way over to where he was. 

“did they leave you again too?” she asked, standing next to him. she felt better being around someone that she already knew rather than being around a group of people that would just stare at her. some even taking out their phones to capture images of her to put on their social media accounts. 

darkness breaks with the stream of light that scatters from above, and inside the four walls she remedies as her new home, iseul loses track of time. 

no windows, nor awareness of the position of the moon - it’s using the ripple effect of people as the ticks and shifts of the clock (for all she knows, it’s still golden hour). an aggregation of gleaming faces struck high by the blaring music and the visions of cloudy smoke, and she knows it’s too early to wave the white flag and call it a night - except, that’s not what she sees. the crowds nearly hollowed with staggered bodies heeding heavier steps as the background music lowers a notch in tempo. the taste of the last tequila shot barely dances on the tip of her tongue, and it’s sheer banality that comes when it’s cue to shut the club doors.

automotion comes in stages. one, it’s the articulation of her fingers and the way they free the tresses of hair restrained in a ponytail. two, it’s the eager slip out of the black blazer and head-first jump into the familiarity of a tattered t-shirt. and finally, three comes a breath pulled chest heavy, soul deep. 

it feels like being wounded prey - open and honest during the off-hours, and it comes like reflex the way her eyes sweep the area only to meet a mirrored dismal gaze of someone vaguely familiar. “enjoying your first row seat to a low-grade teenage angst movie?” self-depreciation comes in chips off her own shoulder as her mouth curls into a vacant smirk, hands already tossing the blazer to exhaustion-ridden staff.

life on the hill means one thing: you probably carry with you an emotional baggage of some sorts and naturally, people turn to partying and drinking as their outlets of release. siwoo’s a little different, he doesn’t like to admit this but, nightclubs scare him and he doesn’t drink to drown his sorrows, he actually enjoys dwelling in them. while most friendships on the hill seem to revolve around partying and similar shenanigans, siwoo prefers a cosy night in with a friend, doesn’t matter if they don’t talk much, or at all, he’d appreciate their comforting presence no less. 

wonjun is a friend like that for him. while the other has his fair share of wild nights out, siwoo’s fortunate enough to share his quiet nights in with him. nights like that are spent in wonjun’s studio, while they both work on their individual crafts, share a snack (and in tonight’s case, siwoo’s favourite butter cookies), delve into discussions about the most random things ever, like whether or not snakes get indigestion (p.s. siwoo thinks they do!), with wonjun’s tracks playing softly in the background. it feels nice, nights like this always feel nice because siwoo knows he doesn’t have to be anyone but himself; because wonjun too, feels no need to put on a facade, something most people around them seem awfully good at doing. not siwoo though, he’s terrible at it. lucky for him, he found a friend who is just as bad at pretending to be anything but himself and he won’t deny, it feels a little less scary when you have a comrade to brave the storms with.

siwoo’s curled up in a corner of the room, his oversized hoodie practically engulfing him as he sketches away on his sketchbook. his mind is at ease and he finds the music taking over, every stroke of his pen matching the flow of the beat. and then it hits him, that wonjun has been replaying the same four bars for the past few minutes. he peeks out from his safe little corner to catch a glimpse of his friend, expecting to see him doubled over in frustration, something he’s used to seeing with often he spends time at the studio. he understands though, as a fellow creative, he knows what it’s like to believe your work isn’t good enough and to obsess over it until you think you’ve gotten somewhat close to perfecting it — been there, done that.
