sunsets ↪︎— @yhdasom
kangdae remembers the first day he saw her.
at six years old he was starstruck, suddenly aware of his dirty sneakers and messy hair — he remembers pausing in his steps, she looks like those fancy dolls, the ones that his grandmother keeps high up on the cabinets.
he wondered if this moment was what those disney movies talked about. where everything in the world makes sense because you’re in love.
but what did he know? he was six, so he did what he did best and asked her to play with him and his friends.
he’s thirty- no he’s nearly thirty-one when he sees her again.
much like the last time, he’s starstruck. maybe this time out of suprise?
he always imagined their reunion to be ...more movie-like. not like this.
not imugi pulling at her leash, excitedly moving towards dasom and her dog. so many questions ran through kangdae’s mind, like why was she here? did she just move here? was she just visiting?
he’s uncharacteristically speechless when he realizes it’s her, his greeting caught in his throat as he sees her — pretty, no prettier in the yunhwa sunset.
“dasom?” he calls out after a moment of shocked silence, his eyes unconsciously drop to her fingers, is there a r-he can’t tell, wait is she saying something, shit.
the farmer clears his throat “it’s been awhile,” he mutters, a soft smile appearing on his ips, his palms are sweaty,he wonders why when the air was so cold. god, he was in his thirties how could he still not talk to her?”
