I grow weary of repeating myself to those who seem intent on judging Aemond based on the events of the book when the show has proven them to be skewed and shown us a softer side of Aemond.

Thus I don't think it wise to discuss events from the book as 100% true and Canon anymore...especially since what they did with Storm's End.

Aemond clearly loves and respects his mother and his sister. He has said "We are not men of depravity." And there is a REASON the show writers had Criston counsel Aemond saying "All women are created in the image of the Mother, to be respected" (paraphrasing from memory). That isn't just some throwaway line and I am sick to death of having to point out the very obvious hints the show gave us that, no, Aemond is not the monster the maesters make him out to be in the histories.
