So I think I’ve figured out a good reason why my vulpix on here, RayRay, can’t use her fire abilities.
I’m playing off the fact that her mother is an Alola form Ninetales and so is her sister ( which I decided to do just now since I think it’ll Remmi better). And once moving to a warmer climate and area, RayRay happened to come out as a fire type vulpix, but isn’t able to produce fire since the genes were not strong enough. Despite her father being a houndoom and them living in Johto/Hoenn by then.
Instead, RayRay goes on to produce her skills in using her small amount of psychic powers that both vulpix and ninetales are able to use despite not having a strong connection to it. It came even easier to her since I feel like fairy and psychic typing are pretty close to one another.Â
