A visiting poet from Taiwan gave a workshop today. She told us, in her simple -- but not broken -- English that poetry comes in all kinds of different forms.Â
Her husband passed away recently. One of her recent film poetry was a tribute to him, especially since much of the footage was what he filmed. He usually was the one to help with the filming. It was, in a sense, his poetry. She taught us that life is ephemeral -- she didn’t expect his sudden passing from a heart attack.Â
We are all poetry. Whether or not we actively write poetry, what we wear, what we say, what we do -- these are all poetic forms that we compose throughout our lives.
