Prime example of why you’re never too old to learn. Eaten lots of field and horse mushrooms in my time but never come across a yellow stainer before. These were in a ring in the woods and whilst did have some yellow as I’ve seen on edible horse mushrooms before, they smelt to me like aniseed. They were very dry though so brought a couple home for the microwave test.
