"Do you want to come in for a while?" Her gaze rises to meet his, finding a softness she hasn't seen in a long time. "Celina's out with some friends and I don't want to be alone right now."

"Yea." He places a gentle hand on her back, and she unlocks the door. It's not a second later that she lands with a soft thud, not expecting to be met with scampering paws.

"Kojo." She greets excitedly, patting the mutt as she struggles to get up between his slobbering.

"Heel, boy." Tim tries, but it falls on deaf ears, much to the amusement of the rest of the room's occupants. "Kojo, sit!"

"Tim's losing his touch." He hears Angela snicker as she leads Jack and Leah over to them, baby Emma still strapped to her front.

Helping her up, Lucy's barely caught her breath when she's face to face with the two small voices.

"Gong Xi Fa Cai!" The pair chorus, grinning from ear to ear. "Hong bao na lai. Mei you hong bao-"
