My Sims For @oshinsimblr Five Families Legacy Challenge
Chantel Washington
9th-10th Grade English & Language Arts Teacher at Beaumont Davies Charter School
More on Chantel Later...Just wanted to introduce her and her class :)
Miss Washington___________
Hey, Iām Chantel. Iām 28, I teach high school English over at Beaumont Davies Charter in Copperdale, and if you ask my students, I probably do a little too much. I laugh in class, sing in class, dance in class, and for sure fuss in class. But my babies learn, so I guess it works. Iāve always loved stories. English, history, music, people, all of it. Iām one of those people who genuinely wants to know where somebody comes from, what shaped them, what made them who they are. I think thatās why teaching came so naturally to me. My mama taught. My grandmother taught⦠in her own way. I guess it was always in me.
Iām originally from Silent Pines. Small town. Midwest. The kind of place where if you act up in public, somebodyās calling your grandma before you even make it home. I left after college swearing Iād never come back. Not because I hated it. I just wanted more. More life. More movement. More noise.
And I got it.
I found my people. My line sisters. My girls. Alpha Theta Nu, Line VII, the Blue and Golds. I fell in love. Got my heart broke. Traveled. Stayed out a little longer than I shouldāve. Lived. I built a life for myself, and for a while, I really thought I had everything figured out.
Then last year happened.
I lost both of my parents in an electrical fire. Overnight. And if Iām being honest⦠that shit broke me. I stopped eating. Stopped answering calls. Stopped showing up for work, for my friends, for myself. I was lying to people, telling them I was okay, telling them I was just tired, telling them I was still teaching when I hadnāt stepped foot in my classroom in months.
My line sisters were the first ones to realize how bad it really was. They pulled up, cleaned me up, fed me, loved me, sat with me, fussed at me, and when I kept lying and saying I was fine⦠they called my grandmother, Natoya.
That woman moved right in, took over my kitchen, my laundry, my life⦠and honestly, she saved me. She lost her daughter and still found the strength to show up for me every single day. That kind of love changes you.
So now⦠Iām teaching again. Iām back with my babies. Back in the classroom. Back trying. Some mornings Iām still up before my alarm, sitting with my coffee, listening to my dog Kenzo snore like he got somewhere to be. Some days I still need five minutes before I can pour into anybody else.
I donāt have everything figured out. But I got my people.
And right now⦠thatās enough.
Chantel went out with her coworkers after work. She hasn't been out in a looong time, but she had fun. She lost Uno 3x and suggested dancing before she flipped the table.
Current Household
The Hopsons
It didnāt start with Rusty. It didnāt even start with the kids. It started with a 22-year-old girl named Farrah, standing on her own for the first time in a city she didnāt belong to.
Fresh out of art school, Farrah moved to Port Sim with nothing but a degree, a secondhand couch, and her dog Mister MiyagiāMigs for short. She was broke, distant from her mother, and trying to build something from the ground up. Thatās when Dante Gomez showed up. He wasnāt from Port Sim, but something about the two of them clicked fast. One date turned into a weekend. A weekend turned into weeks. Within a month, Farrah was pregnant. They were young. Stupid, maybe. But Dante was all in. He talked about cribs, names, futures. He posted her on his socials like she was the prize he never thought heād win. But Dante was hiding more than Farrah knew. He had ties to a gang back in Del Sol Valleyāties that reached all the way to her front door. His rival, Loco Braun, lived across the street. Loco wasnāt a stranger to her. He wasnāt some random enemy in her eyes. He was a neighbor, a husband, a dad. Someone who, surprisingly, was nice to her when Dante wasnāt around. They becameā¦friendly. Too friendly for Danteās liking. It sparked fights. Ugly ones. Dante had his own temper. Heād raise his voice. Heād say shit he didnāt mean. Farrah gave it right back. Their love was fast, hot, and volatile. The final fight between Farrah and Loco wasnāt one-sided. She cursed him out. Got loud. Pushed buttons. She felt betrayed by both men, stuck in the middle of something she never signed up for. Loco snapped. One shove turned into a slap. A line was crossed. Farrah called Dante. Dante lost it. He gathered his crew. Made it known on every street. He was coming for Loco. What was supposed to be a scare turned deadly. Dante fired shots. He missed. Loco didnāt. Dante died that night, feet from Farrahās apartment. Farrah didnāt know until the sirens stopped. Until the city got quiet again. Until she opened her door and saw the blood on the concrete.
Farrah survived. Barely. She brought Santino and Damien into the world alone. And if life hadnāt already done enough, cancer showed up next. Melanoma.
She missed their first Christmas from a hospital bed. Desperate, she called her estranged mother, Dasha, to help. It wasnāt perfect, but it saved their relationship. For once, Dasha showed up.
And then⦠Rusty. Older. Stable. And complicated as hell. He was married when they met. Madre, his wife, was spiraling, threatening to take her life if he left. Rusty stayed too long, trapped between guilt and fear. When he finally chose to leave, he chose Farrah. But it wasnāt clean. It wasnāt easy. The start of their relationship was fragile, strained by his past and her walls. Farrah, already worn from loss, told him flat-outāāIāve been through hell. Iām not going through it again. Be all in, or be gone.ā He stayed. Messy and all, he stayed. Rusty became a father overnight. Something he never thought heād get to be. And when Noemie and Jasiel arrivedātwins, againāit felt like life had finally balanced out.
But the universe had one more twist: Lyric Solana Hopson, their final, unexpected baby girl. She wasnāt planned. She wasnāt even wanted at first. But she is loved. More than they ever imagined they could love someone.
So here they are now.
Santino & Damien, nearly 10.
Noemie & Jasiel, loud and wild at 4.
Lyric, 18 months, the final piece.
Rusty & Farrah, still choosing each other every day.
And Migs, the day-one rider.
Theyāve survived love, loss, betrayal, cancer, motherhood, fatherhood, and the weight of real life.
This family wasnāt built perfectly, but it was built intentionally.
And theyāre still standing.
I never let Farrah rest, lmao. She has lived many lives and been my baby since 2022, but she and Rusty always find each other. FUN FACT: This is the first time they've actually had children together.
