Two and a Half Men has almost been on television as long as Cheers and Frasier.
Wow.
I'm sorry, but I really don't like Two and a Half Men. The first few seasons were okay, but they just got so boring. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, when a majority of the show's jokes are about sex, it's time to call it a day.
What I like about Frasier is not every episode is about sex. Even when they are, they're tasteful episodes. Funny jokes.
For instance, that time Daphne and Niles made out on the piano and Roz rang the doorbell. Niles sits up straight and pulls his knees together, clearly uncomfortable and asks Daphne with a strained voice, "Can you get that?"
I've always noticed in Two and a Half Men that nobody seems close. They all make fun of each other, and we rarely see them come together. On Frasier, they always make fun of each other, but there's always those moments when you see that they truly love each other. Like Frasier getting Niles and Daphne together, Martin telling Niles he'd do anything to fix the pain of Daphne's engagement, Frasier pretending to be Roger so Roz wouldn't feel like a loser at her family reunion, Niles flying to Manchester to bring Mr. Moon back to the US just to make Daphne happy. What about when Niles told Daphne how he felt about her, or the time he told her that their love was different, and why there would never be a "somebody else." Hell, even Bulldog, who's a womanizer! Forming a bond with Alice, telling Roz he thinks he might be in love with her. Everyone banding together when Niles is in surgery. Let's not forget that finale. Where Frasier announces he's moving, and everyone is so emotional.
"It just hit me. You're really leaving," Roz said.
"You know how many operas I'm going to get dragged to with you gone?" Daphne asked with a smile.
"I'll miss the coffees," Niles told him.
"Thank you, Frasier," Martin said, echoing the beginning of the series.
They start off this show as distant family, and 11 years down the road, they have grown closer than ever before. And Hester is watching from Heaven, smiling down at her family.

All I had so far today is a lot of water, a bit of pretzel, french fries, lemonade, a sip of sprite, and a bit of chicken. Now that's what I call healthy living.
