Which is great! Also means my mother and grandmother dropped by for 2 hrs this afternoon. Fine. At least I got some packages out of it which had been delivered to my old address.

I knowwwww my Nonna doesn't mean it that way but literally spending a full hour getting the updates on every single person from the church like. I don't care. I don't give a fuck. I would like to never see or think abt any of these people ever again. I especially don't care when it's about every person in my age group getting married and having children and how so and so's girlfriend is so beautiful and lovely and petite like a porcelain doll (not to mention the low-key fetishistic racism inherent in these descriptions bc she's SE Asian)

And my ass is out here with a bulky solid masculine frame, no bf in sight (god FORBID a gf or other partner), with two graduate degrees and a career she doesn't understand, and therefore frankly nothing to show for myself. Got a lecture on making sure I'm spending money on groceries carefully and being responsible with my money generally. Like. She does realize I make a decent salary, but given the current housing market I can buy all the fancy cheese I want bc there's no way to afford a house anyway??

I KNOW she means well. But also I HATE it and it makes ME feel like shit to know I'm never going to be considered an adult by her standards.
