#ye-min

As mentioned, practice makes perfect.

Opening the doors and letting his family in he gave them the tour. His own living space being on top, and then the pet cafe and coffee shop downstairs. If he was honest, he didn’t think there would be too many people outside of his family, but as the day went on, he noticed a few new faces. He also noticed them eyeing his parents and Rylan and Ye-Min who was there as well, but doing to very respectfully

Tyvan: Don’t look so surprised, you knew people would come. Liam: I just expected... Well, only family today. Tyvan: With both your mom and those three -he nodded towards the trio of skaters in the corner- putting it on social media, that no one would come? Liam: -chuckles- I guess so, the bigger question is if I can keep them coming back. Tyvan: I’m pretty sure they will. 

The day passed quickly, with people coming and going, and at closing time, it was just his closest family still there with him. 

Rylan: I’d say this was a good start. Ye-Min: I agree, I already have a favorite of yours I think, the buns with raisins! Marty: I lean more towards those cinnamon buns myself.

Liam smiled sitting with them, knowing he still had cleanup to do, but he was happy, it had been a fun and good day to begin his adventure into his dream.

Rylan: But all the mistakes? Emil: Mistakes are natural, they will always happen. But you two are the only ones that see this as a bad result. Everyone else, including your family… Ye-Min. My dad too? Emil: Yes, both your mom and your dad, I have talked with them both earlier today. They were worried about you, because you were so hard on yourself. So everyone but you, think you did amazing. 

There was a look between Rylan and Ye-Min, like some weight had just been lifted off her shoulders. A weight they had put there themselves, but now that Emil’s words sank into both their minds, it was clear it was lifted. Emil: Look, they even think you will be unbeatable by the next olympics. He pointed out part of the text where the two commentators, previous winners, said that with the talent they had shown, how quickly they got better, they saw them as the clear favorites for the next time. Rylan: That’s four years from now then. Emil: Yes. Four years to be the best you can be.

Rylan and Ye-Min shared a look before both nodded. They both knew that they wanted to do even better, and they had 4 years to make the reporters claim the truth.

Rylan looked at his twin, sighing, but also doing what his twin said. At dinner, it was a very different feel than normal, which eventually had Emil take the two kids aside to have a talk. 

Emil: Okay, what is with you two, it's not like you ended up last? Ye-Min: I know.. But, if we don’t get at least a medal… I don’t know, it's not good enough? Rylan: I made so many silly mistakes. Ye-Min: Me too.. 

Emil shook his head, realizing Ye-Min had probably done the same as his son had. They had buried themselves in seeing the mistakes, and not really looked at what the rest of the world thought.

Emil: You do realize that the only two people who are disappointed in you, are the two of you, right?

They both looked at Emil who shook his head, and then took out the last few days' newspapers where they were mentioned in the headlines as the youngest 4th place in almost 40 years and just how amazing the young duo had been. Then he showed him the news Flynn had taped, where they again were praised for how quickly they had become so good, and how much everyone wanted to see more of them

He had of course also told him that if he hurt his best friend, he would go full dragon on his ass, which had him chuckle, but from the look he gave him for a second, also a little worried he might actually do so.

Flynn: Sure you got everything? Rylan: Yes.

Flynn smiled, taking Emil’s hand as he opened the portal. They had gotten a special spot to enter, where they would meet their trainer and get settled into their hotel. As they were so young, their parents had been allowed to stay at the same hotel. Some hours later, they were all settled in, while Rylan and Ye-Min had their first practice in the hall where their competition would be held. Then their family would be watching from the stands, as they joined in the opening ceremony. 

The day before their competition was to start, Tyvan, Marty, Ye-Min, and Rylan sat in the living room just talking some nerves away. They had been watching some of their competition and they realized that they would have to be better than ever to actually get on the podium. It was another really big step up.  Emil: Okay guys, night time for everyone. -they smiled- Marty, your coach is here to walk with you back to your room.

Chris took Arlo, Fannar and the two kids to their home, so Arlo could rest up. Fannar made sure to hug everyone before they left, and of course mentioned just how proud he was of his nephew and his ice skating partner.

An hour later, they were all snuggled inside the cozy living room, with a takeout from Carl’s son’s new idea for his restaurant. To not only have people come in, but to cater to special occasions when they needed a bigger or perhaps a more quiet place.

Flynn: So what is next? Odette: Well, we’ll be taken along with the national team, and we’ll get to go all over the world and skate against their best. I should get all the info during the two next weeks, and then we’ll plan around that. Rylan: It feels almost unreal, and big. Ye-Min: It really does. Emil: Well it is big, but also very real.  Odette: And so well deserved. You two, have put so much effort into this, so much of your hearts, and right now I feel like the sky is almost not even your limit.

A smile was shared between Rylan and Ye-Min, they had put their heart and soul into this, and they still loved it as much as the first time they had started to skate together. After some toasts and rounds of praise, the rest of the evening went to them all just chatting, about what was coming, school, and just everyday things.
