KATOUKatou grew up on a rice farm far away from any bigger city. His parents have water quirks and atmospheric quirks to regulate temperatures. He was expected to take over the family business, but he had other ideas. (Obviously hahaha)With 4 he tried to fly on the clouds he could materialize, and jumped from a platform onto it, resulting in a few injuries and shocked parents. He soon learned to create tiny storms though (and wow did he think that was cool) (he was a turbulent kid and gave everyone a hard time) (he got several more injuries, but it didn’t noticeably scar) He used to practice on the wide fields, testing his powers and his limits, usually surrounded by water, which was very helpful. (He will soon figure out that the quirk functions different in the city environment.) During the lonesome summer months he was basically out all day. The town knew about his outgoing and somehow not conformist personality and he just stuck out too much to be engaged with. He learned about his lightning powers when he had a fight with his parents one night and his anger supported letting his powers lose. It struck a tree which caught fire and burned part of a barn. 8Luckily no one got hurt.9 From that moment on his parents were scared of his temperament, and he suffered from a silent, nagging guilt. With 14 he told them he had to try out for UA, and his parents let him leave without goodbyes. To this day he doesn’t like to talk about home.He got into hero class almost with ease, and he managed to become a sidekick very soon, that helped him cover living costs. Katou has a restless and fun-loving personality, he is always striving for excitement, to be validated for his quirk and hero work, and tends to suppress his negative feelings. This sometimes manifests in a subconscious rain-cloud to follow him all day. (Which more than often ruins his perfect hair day lmao.)He is used to being wet so he wears waterproof boots. He doesn’t much care for his other clothes though, he has no problem in wearing less when class is done.His hero costume is based on a wet suit, supported by a breast shield, knee protectors, waterproof and sturdy boots, a hood, and goggles. YASUKIHe is a pro hero fanboy. He gets all excited and blushy when he sees new, flashy quirks, and works hard to be part of a hero team someday! He daydreams a lot about being a hero himself but with his healing quirk he knows he’s lucky if he can become a sidekick. He trains a lot in combat to match up with the others. His casual clothes are comfortable and practical for working out. He’s always checking hero news and likes walks outside. Due to his quirk, he has is easy to become friends with all living creatures, since they sense his calming and non threatening personality. His parents and him have a healthy relationship, but they are a bit scared for him attending a school of heroes that fight villains. Nonetheless they support him, with only an inch of a doubt. In fact, being a healing sidekick has its advantages, and he is getting jobs depending on the mission. He is also always needed to help with injured or panicked civilians.He cannot cure wounds or the source of the illness, but he can heal the pain and symptoms temporarily. The feeling of calm will hold on longer than the physical pain relief, and it both depends on the mood and his strength and the size of the wound.He is capable of slowing down a heart-rate so much it can get critical, but that would take a lot of energy- and he never did that before, obviously. He CAN condition people into a state of ultimate relaxation and numbness, similar to being high on morphine or being narcotized. He is able to knock people out like that. He cannot heal himself! He tried a lot of times but it wont work. Poor kiddo.Later he will most likely tend to heroes who suffer from ptsd, giving them a space to talk and feel comfortable.
