Seeing as change turned into nurturing one would assume Ferret would have grown something like Eternal Sugar Cookie (or in-universe counterpart Greek Parfait) where they mightve grown so obsessed w making the cookies they care for. In a way that's true, but its mostly due to the fact that they largely couldn't survive

They live in a tundra/snowy wasteland and little to no normal cookies can survive, so with the few they could find, they would try and ensure their survival. They saw themselves as too soft on them over the years, withholding heir gifts as "rewards for sufficient strength." At first this worked, but obviously it fell apart as centuries went on. Frustrated, they lashed out, and found how they listen well when they're terrified.
