Yamcha really wanted to look good in front of the Angels and "✨The Ladies✨™️" so had his best attitude for the day, full on lead wolf mode hoping to get the team through the match

The man entirely forgets who he's working with/up against, immediately overwhelmed thanks to the aftermath of Goku's first throw but keeps his grit

Gets to prove his worth by outting two formidable fighters through clever ki ball maneuvers, even getting Whis a lil excited from the infectious energy and ingenuity (personal hc this is what sparked initial infatuation)

Ruh Roh, Vegeta wasn't happy seeing the underdog get the spotlight and admiration, absolutely nailed in the side by the ball. Poor guy is gonna feel that for weeks anytime he coughs

Luckily able to limp his way to first base thanks to umpire Whis calling the hit by pitch, a lil mercy thrown his way

Yamcha being ABSOLUTELY DETERMINED to win tries to steal base while Goku and Vegeta duked it out, panics when it's caught so close knowing the powers he was up against, attempts to sprint back, realizes Goten has butterfingers, doubles back AGAIN and fucking fullsails it despite Piccolo's warning

Pays for his confidence via Vegeta further cementing that deep tissue bruise on Yamcha's side and Champa utterly restructuring his spine. Able to stand on second with only a minor concussion…probably…thanks to Puar

Yamcha left dazed and wondered if he'd even survive this mess but knows he can't hesitate now! At least not when he started off so great!

More agonizing bruising to his spine later as Champa apparently holds a STINKIN GRUDGE—Whis' calling of "safe" is the finest sound Yamcha has ever heard as he was struggling to remain conscious facefirst in third.

Next thing he knows, fucking WAKES UP TO THE END OF THE WORLD as Beerus and Champa are throwing a tantrum overhead but sees the home plate in his bleary vision. Well, mostly this glowing light.

Through sheer human determination, crawls his way past the destruction towards the light, which turns out to be Whis still situated at the plate, his attention focused on the Gods of Destruction to decide when to stop them. Saved from a stray beam after being noticed, is just barely clinging on as Whis and Vados finally step in before it got out of hand.

Yamcha being down and out for the count afterwards as his spirit kinda needs some time to detox from all the destruction ki he endured, even if briefly (that shit was ripping the landscape, I'd hate to imagine how painful it'd be 😭)

Definitely winces from time to time due to phantom aches and sudden bouts of fever as it still poisoned his body, regardless of time passed. Yamcha insists these random episodes are just Earthly ailments his retired fighter body is dealing with (Puar highly doubts this though as they saw it themself, keeps pestering Yamcha to bring it up to Whis anytime the Angel visits)
