PreservationĀ delivers the video forĀ āShyneāĀ ā the latest from his debut compilation entitledĀ Old NumbersĀ ā featuringĀ Yahzeed. The project fromĀ Mon Dieu MusicĀ features appearances fromĀ Yasiin Bey,Ā Edo G,Ā Jean Grae,Ā MinnesotaĀ and more. The project follows Preservationās recent rework of Yasiinās 2009 LPĀ The Ecstatic. The video produced byĀ Fishing Cat FilmsĀ is a beautifully photographed phone booth confessional that captures the somber mood of Preservationās sweeping production as brought to life by Yahzeedās lyrical catharsis. Detailing his sins and sundry mistakes, Yahzeed finds shelter from the storm in the cramped quarters of a telephone booth and solace in the truth of his words; the emotionally dense verse plays like an ode to his pen and a bittersweet apology to anyone heās ever failed to love as much.
