I love them! whether its platonic or romantic they're very important to me. Here's why I ship them:
they're super sweet & they care about each other so much. tai breaking down crying when he talks about kari getting sick as a kid, how he blames himself, how she cares so much and will never burden people bc he knows her so well... that is one of my favorite scenes
ep 21. even as a kid i felt weird about this episode (and not just cause of the direction) but their relationship felt different from a standard brother-sister relationship to me. so that one interview (regardless of how authentic it is) that brings up all those points and how it could be more than platonic feelings vindicated me. even besides that though, the scene where they have to seperate and she holds onto his hand until he floats away is so heartbreaking
hikari's dependence on taichi. she relies on him & trusts him a lot, and he always comes thru. she eventually develops and grows so she needs him less, but i love codependence so this aspect of their dynamic is A+ for me
