“xxTJs read something in a book and believe it” is as correct as “xxFJs hear a person saying something and believe it”. sometimes true, sometimes not, and it completely ignores the main task of a judging function: the actual judging.

the unconscious thought process for Te/Fe

is presented a fact, e.g. reads it in a book

checks externally “is this congruent with what “experts” say on this matter”

the judging: if yes -> accept information, if no -> disregard it as false

the unconscious thought process for Ti/Fi

  is presented a fact, e.g. reads it in a book

checks internally “is this congruent with the “truth” i myself already know?”

the judging: if yes -> accept information, if no -> disregard it as false

both thought processes can lead to wrong or right conclusions, depending on your scope and bias of information intake.

Te/Fe are usually about 80% correct but never 100% right. they sacrifice accuracy for a “eh, good enough, it works most of the times” Ti/Fi are either extremely correct or extremely wrong about something, it’s hit or miss.

Te and Fe work exactly the same just that the “experts” which opinions they respect are wildly different groups of people.

for Te: experts = people whose opinions are valued by a large number of people with the same Fi-morals. doesn’t matter if Te-user knows them personally or not.

for Fe: experts = people in their immediate surroundings that have previously proven to know just a little bit more about a specific topic than the Fe-user does. for an xxFJ with a computer problem for example their “cousin who works in IT” is automatically more of an expert than “a random person on google”. doesn’t matter if that “random google person” is a lot more skilled on paper. the xxFJ had no way of personally proving those paper records so they get Ti-disregarded.
