listening to skylarking today. and oh this album feels like coming home. how did xtc make something so revolutionary yet so comfortable, so complex yet so easy to listen to. obsessed with this album and with them.

Thanks for enabling my XTCposting. I honestly expected this song to be higher up but it's 69 I guess. Anyway this one's not a lyrical masterpiece so I feel no shame in saying I really just like the hook. "I may be the mayor of simpleton, but I know one thing, and that's I love you." It's sweet it's earnest it makes me happy. Also bonus points to the line where he's talking about how his gf's friends don't like him and he says "they're paupers and that's how they'll stay." Absolutely CRUSHED that Ben Folds has dropped out of the top five for the first time since I got Spotify like five years ago but life goes on. XTC being top artist is exactly as it should be. Sorry about the pop punk. And uh I will not lie The Strokes are only there cause my sisters love them and I was TRYING to bond. Not a bad band but I havenāt really liked them since high school.
So I open up Spotify to listen to my silly little songs and, boom, there it is: New XTC Single. Which has me absolutely insane with hope, because thereās no way theyāre making new music in 2022, thereās No Way, but there it is, and I click to listen to it, and it is the most disappointing mediocre rap I have ever heard. Itās just some new rapper who named themself XTC and Spotify canāt tell two artists with the same name apart. I hate it here.
