I want a moment where Xio is like:

Xio caring for Fors worrying about her drinking and smoking and Fors happy and tipsy kissing her tiny powerhouse gf with vague though that if she would to ever lose Xio she would eat her characteristic too so they could stay together forever madness be damned.

Xio running her hands through Fors hair wanting to get them a nicer house with a proper garden so even if she can't stop her beloved from smoking at least she wouldn't be hot boxing herself all day.

Absolutely tragic heartbreak but also soothing dynamic they got going on here. Leonard grieved Klein. Found out he was alive and also after revenge. Genuinely thought him and Klein were going to do a suicide mission to get said revenge. When Klein allowed himself to pull Leonard back into his life he's always considered Leonard his. Then without realizing it he allowed Leonard a hundred different tiny intimacies that he refuses to let himself have with anyone else.

Cuddle fish is one second away from making them canonical married and they as so interesting about each other. Like they are each other's one and only. Their ride or die. So married and in love the concept of divorce fleas from them.

They both just care and love one another so deeply and every action they take shows such a deep level of understanding and concern. While Leonard and Klein will almost inevitably end up doomed Xio and Fors have the biggest shot at a happy in love post cannon life. And even if they don't the love they are experiencing in cannon is just as vivid and important.

Both have a unique relationship with age, maturity, and community.

Emlyn comes from a very close nit community with a strict social hierarchy. You all are a family but in the same way your judgement aunt is your family. All of them place a great deal of importance on their pride since A) they are well off enough for social status to be one of few concerns and B) your social standing effects your actual security because people lower on the totem poll get less help. Aka Emlyn when he was first captured by the church of earth mother. He's a long lived species but despite that he has had little social experience making him naive in certain matters and lacking a certain level of jadedness because of this and the teaching of earth mother.

Derrick on the other hand also grew up in a close nit community that is almost like a family but more akin to your siblings who have been through hell and back with you. The city of silver doesn't have time for social games as they need to survive. Everyone is struggling to survive and to liberate everyone from the eternal night. For them it's a fight against extinction that could sweep the lands at any moment. Derrick is young but doesn't have time to be so he rapidly forces himself to matures as he faces the reality of the situation from the stance of needing to save people. (Him and Emlyn both have this need to save)
