In any continuity, has there ever been a female insecticon? I'm not counting one offs like Airachnid that just happen to be able to control them for some reason, I mean a real member of the hive. I know about that unmade Beet-Papil figure, but that's part of what made me curious. If they were based on real insect hives, the vast majority of them would be female. Of course, how well that translates to genderless robots is a completely different question. Just a thought.
Not explicitly, no! Indeed, the very idea of an “Insecticon hive” or “swarm” only really goes back as far as IDW’s All Hail Megatron, with the Aligned continuity building on the idea and turning them into a naturally-occurring Cybertronian species, instead of a sub-group or faction like they were in G1.
That said, while she wasn’t explicitly identified as an Insecticon, RiD’s Glowstrike did turn into an insect (a firefly), so she’s probably the closest to counting.
That was a rather... Interesting fight. For a minute there, I thought it would never end.
SO—I’ve been gone for a few months or so, and there has been a ton of things which have prohibited me from posting on Facetroid.
#1: Writer’s block. With Travis about to embark on a war with Master Hand, I simply did not know how to proceed. Additionally, he managed to destroy the Great Fox’s engines, leaving majority of my characters disabled. I needed time to think.
#2: Classes. I needed to finish finals and school.
#3: Job. I got hired recently as a lifeguard, so that has occupied majority of my time, as of recent. Yay for pay, but boo for little free time.
So, after thinking about these things, I’ve decided to not have a, generally speaking, “fixed” storyline like Smashtroid was. It’s time you wrote the stories and I tagged along with my characters.
When Mr. Iwata died, however, I HAD to say something in regards to an impact on Master Hand and Crazy Hand. Satoru Iwata is the Maker that Master Hand was referring to. The Hands’ temporary paralysis are caused from his death.
But yeah, aside from an unconscious Master and Crazy Hand, everyone else is on Tyyris, a barren planet where everyone is trying to survive. If you have any ideas, feel free to collaborate.
I hope we can get Facetroid rolling again!
Sincerely,
The Hand Man
Question: what is your headcanon relating to MK? I'd like to see if I can include other peoples' ideas in my story, so if you have anything that I can fit into my fic, just throw it out there.
Hmm, I go with the whole 'Kirby was the rebel demon beast', and don't really have anything too specific for MK, but now that I'm thinking of it... MK was just some random puffball (of Sir Arthur's race, most likely), eventually some random Star Warrior, that just so happened to end up as one of the biggest thorns in Nightmare's side. The GSA got themselves some truly incredible victories once Mety was fully trained and on the battlefield, the two biggest being reclaiming Galaxia, and a lightning raid on one of Nightmare's high security bases where he kidnapped/rescued Kirby.
Eventually there might've been something of a rivalry between Meta Knight and Customer Service, given they were commanders on opposing sides... my MK wouldn't have known it was him specifically so it would've been more like 'curse that guy, why does someone so brilliant have to be on the other side'. I imagine yours would know exactly who he was up against, given they worked together for a while.

sorry I'm spamming you AM I SPAMMING YOU IS THIS TOO MUCH no it's my fault cause I literally only have online friends at this point.
Honestly, don't worry about it. If it's about headcanons and such, I love talking about it! I find myself pestering people about headcanons as well. It's been awhile since I got to discuss Kirby with anyone. Don't be afraid to ask questions (it gets lonely sometimes).
(just curious about your opinion since I care way too much about those. I portray Sword and Blade as being female because of their japanese voices. I know, japanese androgyny is a common thing in anime, but now I avoid using any pronouns outside of my story. Just curious. And I'm bored.)
Their gender is unknown in canon, really. People just assume they're male, for the most part. I have seen a really good fan comic that depicted Sword as a girl. It's really old, like seven years old, so I don't remember it too well. I think it was called A Knight's Tale or something. But yeah, they're not canonically male or female, so it's free to interpretation. You are free to depict them in any way you want.
I've been picturing them both as male since I got into the series, though now I'm reconsidering a bit. I like to picture Blade is mentally 13-15 and Sword is 16-17 (I say mentally because Meta Knight is apparently at least over 1,000 years old and Kirby is 200, though he's considered just a baby. Age seems to be weird in thee Kirby anime universe.). However, while I still like to think Sword is male, I'm thinking it might be possible Blade is female. Or he/she/zie could be non-binary. Why not? My closest friend likes to think Blade is a girl, so that's how Blade's depicted in our roleplays (she's the one that plays her while I play Sword). Now I'm trying to be a bit more open to gender, but Sword and Blade could be anything. I think that's why I love their original voices; because they leave the two characters up to interpretation. The dub voices do not. Do not talk to me about the dub voices.
Ha!
Giratina is in the new Smash Bros.
Go Smashtroid!
