Well to help answer your question, could you perhaps give me an example in the gifs or anything? Because if you mean just how we make the gifs.... my capture settings in KMPlayer for the size is "500x270" But I do sometimes adjust it as needed if the video I'm extracting has different dimensions, and that's how they have that "sharp" feel to them.

I use an effect called Surface blur, It's in photoshop. filter>blur>surface blur then set your blur as much (or as little) as you want!
Other than that my general edits to my gifs are just adding curves on top of everything!
