Quick ride out with the hardtail last Saturday, mostly fire roads and gravel, trying out a bit of bike packing rig.
Needs a bit of a longer stem, like 50mm and 31.8 handlebars (currently running with 35mm and a 30mm stem) cut shorter than the 80 cm i am currently riding. But great fun!
Race #3 felt much harder than usual for some reason. The legs felt flat that day. It happens. That morning during practice we had crazy strong gusty wind, but thankfully it died down a little bit by the time we started. Still, I was being careful descending not to get suddenly blown off the course. Because that would be not ideal. Looking forward to the next one this Saturday to crush it good!

This is part 3/3 of the Lollipop XC Loop. Riding down on Gabrielino Trail from Switzer toward JPL where we started. That segment was very difficult on the way up, but much more enjoyable on the way down. We gotta be careful with the exposure there and walk the sections we're not sure about because the consequences are high and it would take a while for a rescue team to get there. Just take your time and you'll have an amazing time. It took us roughly an hour to descent down to JPL from where the video starts. The camera didn't capture the whole descent, unfortunately, due to an "incident" that corrupted the video file.
