now i might be biased about this but i would sell my soul to have AT LEAST xavier and tyler as friends in season 2 of wednesday. i say at least cause it would be pretty cool if wednesday did actually end up with enid and xavier with tyler
there's this one thing that keeps bugging me. from what we know xavier thinks tyler is a bad person because he and his friends ruined his mural and assaulted him. now, why would tyler do that? if it was because he hates outcasts then xavier would for sure mention it at least once to wednesday when he tells her the story, right? just to warn her maybe? it just doesn't make sense that no one ever brings it up if that's the case. but since he didn't and no one ever questions tyler opinions on outcasts, there must be something more to explain why it was xavier's mural that he destroyed. i mean, he could just have been peer pressured by his friends but he did say it was that event that made him realise he didn't want to be a "bitter townie that blames everyone else for the shitty hand he's been dealt" so it feels like he was pretty on board with the idea.
also, if this has nothing to do with the hyde and tyler was actually honest when he talked to wednesday at the rave'n dance then why has he never apologized to xavier for what happened? if it was truly all about the mural and they didn't even know each other before that, it's weird that he didn't think once of going to xavier and tell him the same he told wednesday. to me it feels like xavier has a far more personal reason to be that angry after a whole year. i refuse to believe his only reason is that he's jealous of tyler and wednesday cause it's clear that his negative feelings were definitely there even before the whole wednesday thing started.
the thing is i really enjoyed the show but it definitely lacked something when it comes to some of the characters' plots. you're kind of given just enough for the characters to work and make sense but it seems like the fandom has just generally agreed on more in-depth details since we weren't given any.
so with season two hopefully being confirmed soon, a part of me is sure that they must do something with the little hints they dropped about tyler and xavier knowing each other before the events of season one (what happened with the mural, xavier being the only one with the visions about the hyde aka tyler, the fact that of all places xavier is sent to work with tyler on outreachday but there's not even one scene with them). you know since it's not technically the main point of the show, they could have just left them as the rivals because of wednesday. that was a big enough reason to dislike each other without having to mention any kind of past history between them.
at the same time, since it's not like they gave xavier that much space to have a plot that didn't revolve around wednesday for now, i'm also terrified that it was one of those things they won't develop and it was just all thrown there to give xavier some kind of context like they did with bianca's cult.
yknow i'm not even gonna lie i started looking into tavier content mostly because i thought in a very superficial way that they would look good together. long story short now the more i think about it the more i can't get it out of my head how it makes so much sense that they are exes who had a very bad breakup or at least they have a very complicated history we literally don't know anything about. funny how those little details you catch in the show make xavier x tyler ten times more interesting than any other ship they tried to force
