Nikolas was drawn to anger, but he couldn’t even build up an ounce of it to pull himself up from the ground. What fuelled him daily had left him and forgot him like last week’s newspaper. He didn’t know what to do, fear was burrowing into his veins and clouding his mind with the thought of dying. Or of being found in this state by someone who would gladly take advantage of it and finish him off. To wait for an option that was so slim was torture. He tried to get up, tried to force his body to work correctly, but to no avail did he move more than a foot. Without his sight, he was as useless as a newborn babe.

He couldn’t see, he couldn’t hear, so he had no way to know what direction to even move in if he could. How could he not be frightful? Anyone could find him, any of those faces he remembered after fighting them. Any of the people he had scorned. And now? Now he had to hope that one post on a social platform he had only been on for a little while had reached one of the few people he had spoken to. Strangers that he had never met a day in his life.

Some that he had already pissed off. And as that thought crossed his mind, he realized just how drab his reality was. How badly it had burned him to be filled with so much hatred and anger that it created a pocket of solitude for him. He curled up, fingers clutching onto his wounded eyes as he tightened his jaw.
