Sun Angels recently shared their newest EP X4TEP via Cascine. This EP is one of those that will draw you in with its lush sound, heavy layers of electronica, but the underlying harmony and balance between everything is what sells you. The EP starts off with probably my favorites on the EP “Puma”. There’s a cinematic calmness to this song in the beginning that cradles you a little but Sun Angels quickly works in the heavier electronic until you get this gorgeous balance of sweet orchestration and hyphy electronica. This song is contrasted with the second song on the EP titled “Elodie”. When I first heard this song, I was reminded of Motion City Graphics because of the choppy sounds. X4TEP is truly an incredible album if you give it a chance.
