@powerfulresponsibility | iâm not wearing that.
The dust settles from the slammed books as Grace Porter fixes Peter with a withering glare over the top of her round glasses- an art that she has  p e r f e c t e d  after years of practice, little though it may do. As his classmate and his friend to boot, sheâs had more than enough experience with his particular brand of tomfoolery ( even if it has only recently extended to include her long-standing secret hobby, as well as his harrowing new one ) .
â Iâm not going to be a superhero. Iâm just⌠Your backup. Okay, S p i d e y ? â She wrinkles her nose on the word, still not quite able to connect the ratty geek who is classified as her bff with the web-slinging gymnast classified as AMAZING. Peter Parker, amazing? Maybe an amazing loser. â I donât have an origin story, or a name, or⌠A broom, no. I wouldnât even know where to find one. Unless you can glean the answer from one of these⌠Geeze, the only word I feel like I can use for these is tome. â
She grabs a book from the top of one of the piles, brushing the cover clean and opening it up to begin thumbing through the pages. Itâs not her usual fare, as itâs neither novel nor arcane volume, but itâs definitely fascinating. Barely of the stuff in this book even resembles the actual art of⌠Magic? Sheâs never been quite sure what itâs called, really, but magic seems like the best word for it. Certainly, Peter has been eager to start calling it that.
â I canât believe I never knew about this place⌠How did you know about it? â
