What does Wyvara courtship generally look like? Are there any courtship practices that have existed for a long time relatively unchanged? What sorts of things are seen as largely romantic and sweet vs what things give off the vibe of coming on too strong/being kinda creepy? :oc
Wyvara are a lot more culturally physical than humans are used to. Nuzzling and physical contact are a lot more socially accepted as greeting/casual contact. It crosses the line into flirting when more intimate areas are touched. The fluffy chest region between the wings and arm shoulders is considered similarly to female human breasts are. Hands are also considered pretty intimate. Touching another's hands, especially your own, is a pretty intimate act in wyvaran culture.
Touching below the chin and but above the shoulders is considered pretty normal "I don't know you the best but I like you like you" behavior with anything deeper than that would be more akin to getting handsy with someone.
Courtship as a whole is kinda weird for wyvara. Due to their weird kinda two sexed but also unisex cycle they have going on, anyone could have a kid with anyone. So most of the time, wyvara relationships grow out of extremely close friendships. Wyvara are primarily monogamous with some smaller island communities being polyamorous.
As for things that haven't changed, either literally or symbolically incorporating part of your partner into yourself. Typically done by imping one of their crest feathers into yours or more symbolically with a piece of feather jewelry.
For being "creepy," kinda the same stuff we would find creepy. Taking feathers is something that trips up a lot of humans when they first start interacting with wyvara as that is considered a really creepy or forward thing to do depending on how the wyvara wants to take it. The human usually think, "oh yo sick cool feather from my friend :D" and don't think about the connotations.
