How'd I get myself into this mess? the young cyan-haired man laments as he stands in the middle of the squared-circle. Strung up in the corner behind him were a pair of boxing gloves on the ropes, the rest of his belongings sitting in a gym bag on the floor. He was clad in a plain black muscle shirt and matching white shorts, sleeves intentionally cut a bit too deep to show off his muscles from the side alongside his toned arms, his signature trident logo emblazoned into the shoulder in white next to his shoulder. As he stood idly watching the door for his partner, he went over the circumstances leading to his current position.
Following the events from a few nights prior, he was approached by the blonde asking where he and Sun had gone in the middle of the fight on the highway. Smooth with words as he is, Neptune explained the situation to her. Without their whole team to back them up, Neptune and Sun were simply no match for Roman and the Paladin. Hearing this, the woman immediately suggested that the two of them train together.
At first, Neptune was hesitant. Sparring wasn't exactly his forte in the first place, and doing it against a woman even moreso. However, with continuous egging-on from Yang, he was put into a position in which he couldn't back down from her challenge. Reluctantly, he agreed to meet her, rationalizing to himself that it would at least be a good opportunity to get to know one another better.
Whistling a tune to himself, he rested against the turnbuckle of the ring, browsing through the news on his scroll when he heard the doors of the gym open. Tossing the device down with the rest of his belongings, he catches a glimpse of the blonde's hair as she saunters in. ❝Hey there, Sunshine,❞ he calls out to her, voice echoing throughout the large empty space. He rubs his arms to fend off the cold of the air conditioned room as he reaches a hand over the ropes down to her, ❝Need a boost?❞
