The bandage covering her shoulder strained painfully as she hoisted her pack up a little further, feet pounding the ground as she set off, barely even giving herself time to breathe as she ran. She had had a bad run in with the enemy, a wounded shoulder being the result, and she knew she needed to get herself back inside the right lines to have it treated. While she had been able to bandage it and felt relatively fine, she still knew that the effects of blood loss could come quickly if she managed to move her arm the wrong way.
The sound of approaching footsteps caused her to stop, hands scrambling to load her rifle as blue hues scanned the surrounding area, trying to determine from which direction the feet came, a curse slipping from her lips as her pain shot down her arm. ❞Whoever's out there, get the fuck out of hiding and show yourself.
